Job Summary:
The Power Plant Operations Data Security Analyst is responsible for ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of all data and systems within the power plant operations domain. The role involves assessing and mitigating security risks, implementing data protection measures, and monitoring systems to detect and respond to any security incidents. The Data Security Analyst collaborates with cross-functional teams to develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and best practices to safeguard critical information assets.
Responsibilities:
1. Identify potential security vulnerabilities and risks within power plant operations data systems, networks, and infrastructure.
2. Develop and implement security controls and measures to protect sensitive data and prevent unauthorized access, modification, or disclosure.
3. Monitor and analyze security alerts, logs, and reports to identify and respond to security incidents effectively.
4. Conduct regular security assessments and audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
5. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and guidelines related to power plant operations data.
6. Stay updated with the latest security technologies, trends, and best practices to recommend and implement appropriate security solutions.
7. Conduct periodic security awareness training for power plant operations staff to promote a culture of data security and compliance.
8. Respond promptly and effectively to security incidents, including conducting investigations, analyzing root causes, and implementing corrective actions.
9. Participate in cross-functional teams to evaluate, select, and implement security tools, technologies, and systems.
10. Collaborate with external vendors and consultants to ensure the security of power plant operations data and systems.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
2. Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or other relevant certifications is highly desirable.
3. Proven experience in data security, information security, or a related role, preferably within the energy and utilities industry.
4. Strong understanding of power plant operations and associated data systems, networks, and infrastructure.
5. Thorough knowledge of security principles, best practices, and industry standards, such as NIST, ISO 27001, and IEC 62443.
6. Experience in conducting security risk assessments, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing.
7. Proficiency in implementing and managing security controls, such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, encryption, and access controls.
8. Familiarity with security incident response procedures and incident management tools.
9. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess and mitigate security risks effectively.
10. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
